THE EVENING
The New York City Str✡︎ng Gala is an evening dedicated to enduring Jewish Story and bright future of our people and faith in New York.
Our story is a powerful narrative of resilience, faith, and transformative contribution that dates back over three and a half centuries. It is a story of a deep and positive impact.
The roots of our community stretch back to 1654, when the first Jewish settlers, arrived in what was then New Amsterdam. They faced early great hurdles but with an unwavering faith in G-d and commitment to our timeless faith and Torah, laid the foundation for a vibrant future.
The history of Jews in New York is a powerful affirmation of the community’s tenacity and commitment to faith. Despite facing adversity—exile, prejudice, and economic hardship—the light of of our heritage remains bright.
Today, New York boasts the largest Jewish community outside of Israel, a tapestry of diverse traditions. This continued and sustained presence is seen as a miracle and a profound source of strength for all peoples in the entire metropolitan area.
At the New York City Str✡︎ng Gala we will rededicate ourselves to make this city a beautiful home for the children of tomorrow. We will be inspired, dance and sing in an unforgettable evening.
